School History

Holt Middle School at Mount Comfort, nestled in the beautiful rolling hills of the Mount Comfort community in northwest Fayetteville, is housed in a modern 102,750 square foot building. The instructional areas are divided into three major groups consisting of a 5th grade wing, a 6th grade wing, and a wing for the arts and physical education. The fifth and sixth grade wings are further divided into six pods of four classrooms, each one built around a commons area consisting of lockers and a large meeting space.

A solid core curriculum, based on state and national standards, is divided into "Core" and "Encore" classes. Core classes consist of Reading, Language Arts, Science, Math, and Social Studies. Encore classes include Engineering, Theater, Art, Technology Classes, Music, Physical Education, and Health. Additional instruction and programs are provided in English as a Second Language (ESL), Special Education, and Gifted and Talented. Services are also available through School Counselors, an Ozark Guidance Center Counselor, and a Psychological Examiner.
